Ayurvedic Preparations: It is extensively used in cosmetics & pharmaceutical formulations

It is a xerophytic plant distributed in the drier tracts of the country. It can be cultivated successfully in marginal soils.  

Cultural Practices

¨      Habit: Perennial

¨      Propagation: Suckers

¨      Population: 36, 500 plants/ha.

¨      Manures: FYM 10 t/ha

¨      Yield: 10 – 12  t/ha of fresh leaves

¨      Crop duration: Five years

¨      Harvest: Plants are ready for harvest  after 8 months of  planting.
